CoinWorld reported that a group of developers responsible for managing the world's most popular Full Node software — Bitcoin Core, still insists that the "OP_RETURN dispute" has been settled by 2025, claiming they are the winners of this conflict, while dissenters are merely unserious individuals following a "country bumpkin leader." The developers' latest mocking actions include giving the opposing camp a new nickname "Knotzis" and ridiculing a small flaw in the Bitcoin node software Knots. Despite their actual software's dominant position in the Bitcoin network being continuously weakened, they remain immersed in the joy of their "victory." In fact, the number of users choosing to use Knots software due to opposition to Bitcoin Core's modifications to the OP_RETURN protocol has increased tenfold this year — the number of connected nodes on the internet has risen from fewer than 400 to nearly 4000.
