New Bitcoin record from BlackRock: 700,000 BTC surpassed.
BlackRock's Bitcoin spot ETF IBIT continues to break new records. In the first 7 weeks after its launch on January 10, 2024, IBIT surpassed 10 billion dollars, and over the course of 11 months, it exceeded the 50 billion dollar mark, having also managed to surpass 700,000 Bitcoin as of yesterday.
On July 3, the last trading day before Monday, the fund with 698,900 BTC received an additional investment of 1,510 BTC on the next trading day, July 7. This brought the total above 700,000 BTC.
ETF expert and owner of NovaDius Asset Management, Nate Geraci, stated regarding the matter, "Another boundary has been crossed. IBIT now holds more than 700,000 Bitcoins."
BlackRock is also rising within itself
The iShares Bitcoin ETF is ranked as the 3rd fund providing the highest returns among the 1197 funds owned by BlackRock. This is seen as a significant growth for a fund that has only been trading for 18 months.
In first place is the iShares Russell 1000 Growth ETF created in 2000 (IWF), and in second place is the iShares MSCI EAFE ETF launched in 2001. Despite both funds having a history of over 20 years, the rapid rise of the Bitcoin fund is also noticeable.

All Bitcoin ETFs globally hold a total of 1.25 million BTC. BlackRock alone owns 56% of these BTC... The Fidelity FBTC ETF, which is in second place, currently holds 200,000 BTC.
The GBTC fund of Grayscale, which was the clear leader in this market for a period, has decreased from 620 thousand to 185 thousand. This represents a 70% decrease...
